Arm Lift
What Is Arm Lift Surgery?
Excess skin is a common complaint many people have as they get older or lose weight. At San Diego Plastic Surgery Center, we offer arm lift surgery (also known as brachioplasty) as a procedure for people who cannot manage to tighten and tone their arms with exercise and diet. Loose skin from the elbow to the upper arm is very common, particularly for women and men who have lost weight or are advancing in age. An arm lift removes this excess, hanging skin, often known as "bat wings." Our lead practitioner, Dr. Jose Rodriguez, is a board-eligible plastic surgeon in San Diego, CA who is knowledgeable in skin tightening and fat removal procedures. If you would like to learn more information about how brachioplasty can improve the contour of your arms, please schedule an appointment with Dr. Rodriguez and our staff at your earliest convenience.
How Does Arm Lift Surgery Work?
All procedures at San Diego Plastic Surgery Center are done in the comfort and convenience of our private operating room. An arm lift is typically performed with the patient under general anesthesia and may take a few hours to finish. The sagging skin will be surgically excised from the elbow and continuing to the underarm. The incision will be placed to be as concealed as possible, although it will most likely leave a visible scar. If liposuction is required to eliminate stubborn pockets of fat, this will be performed as well. Once the skin is tightened, it will be stitched back into place. If Dr. Rodriguez decides it is safe, your procedure may include additional treatments, such as a tummy tuck or abdominal liposuction.
